GETTING READY.

Getting ready photos are some of my favourite from the day. Below are some tips to help you prepare for the morning of your wedding to ensure your getting ready photos are absolutely flawless!

It’s ideal for your getting ready space to have plenty of natural window light. Simplicity is best for a getting ready space, keep it tidy and avoid clutter. Or you can keep a separate room just for the photos that is clear of clutter.

Wear something cute for your getting ready photos – you will be photographed! It’s always nice when all the girls have matching outfits! There are lots of places you can get matching robes from, check the Vendor Guide for some suggestions! I’ve also seen matching PJ sets, rompers and other cute outfits! If you want photos in your cute outfits, make sure they are long enough to be worn without bottoms, or you can all wear the same bottoms!

If you will be exchanging gifts with your bridal party, your fiancee, or parents, please let us know ahead of time or when we arrive so we can plan to capture that! Also make sure you leave extra time in the timeline for this! Typically we need 45 minutes to photograph the guys, and 60 minutes to 1.5 hours for the girls; however if there are gifts and other things out of the ordinary, make sure to leave more time!

For the wedding day please have the following ready when we arrive.

Guys - Please be showered and ready to get dressed 30 minutes prior to our scheduled arrival time. Please have all of your details laid out and gathered, ready for us to photograph. Your details include, shoes, ties, cufflinks, cologne, socks, pocket squares, boutonnieres, handwritten vows or vow book, watches and any other details you might have for the day.

Girls - Please have the following items laid out and gathered for us when we arrive.
Two copies of your wedding stationery (invitations etc) including envelopes, both yours and your partner-to-be’s wedding bands, your engagement ring, antique or velvet ring box or Marbella Dish, your other jewellery, perfume, dress, pretty hangar, shoes, clutch, handwritten vows or vow book, garter, flowers, ribbons, any other personal details or heirlooms you will be wearing throughout the day.

If there is something you've seen online or heard of but can't find, make sure you check the Vendor Directory or contact me and I can point you in the right direction!

If you have any meaningful heirlooms, trinkets or charms that might be out of the ordinary, please inform us so we make sure to get a photo of it!
